EWADA first year

We cannot believe that it has been nearly 1 year since we kicked off the EWADA project.

On 23-24 May 2022, we reflected on EWADA's journey so far and discussed its near future. We are really excited about the amazing progress we have made related to privacy-preserving decentralised computing, the scope of data terms of use in the new model of data governance, and various application scenarios (including gig workers and kids recommender systems) that have been driving the development of the project in the past year. We are pleased to see how our first solid-based prototype for movie sharing with friends has provided a valuable playground for our research and development.

In the next few months, we would love to focus on our development of decentralised approaches for supporting our daily research practices (such as meeting scheduling or communication) and making new explorations of how our existing architectures can be contested in actual application scenarios as well as rigorous research evaluations.

We thank the visit of our visiting fellow Prof. Ruben Verborough, for his always insightful input to our discussions.
